(SportsNetwork.com) - Among the last things the skidding Texas Rangers want to see on a Wednesday night is a red-hot Chris Tillman.

But that's precisely what they'll be getting when they return to Camden Yards for the third test of a four-game series with the Baltimore Orioles.

Tillman has been lights-out on the mound since Texas humbled him to the tune of five runs in one-plus inning in a June 5 meeting in Arlington. Since then, Tillman has split four decisions while posting a 1.61 earned run average.

In his last two outings alone, both wins, he's given up just one run in 15 innings.

It's a drastic departure success wise from his first four games at home this season, when the Orioles managed just two runs while he was 0-4 with a solid 2.78 ERA.

"I was able to throw the fastball for strikes," Tillman said. "Any time you are able to throw to both sides of the plate and mix in your offspeed, it's kind of a recipe for success."

The change since the Texas debacle is obvious, according to Baltimore manager Buck Showalter.

"He's carrying more pitches. It's not always velocity," Showalter said. "It's crispness, finishing in the zone, a little more of that. He's come so far."

Texas has lost 11 of its last 13 games against all opponents, seven straight on the road an nine of 10 against the Orioles. The last time it dropped eight in a row away from home was in 2005.

The Rangers will send Miles Mikolas to the mound for his debut with the team.

It's the first start of his big-league career, which previously included two wins in three decisions across 27 relief appearances for San Diego in 2012 and 2013. This season, he was 3-1 with a 3.58 ERA in six starts in the minors.

On Tuesday, Caleb Joseph's two-run homer helped the Orioles to an 8-3 victory.

Steve Pearce, whose two homers led the Orioles to a win in the opener on Monday, went deep again and Nelson Cruz also homered.

T.J. McFarland (1-1) earned the win in his first start of the season, surrendering just two runs on seven hits with two strikeouts over five innings.

Adam Rosales supplied a two-run double while Rougned Odor and Alex Rios each had two hits for Texas.

Nick Martinez (1-6) was tagged for eight runs -- six earned -- on seven hits and one walk in defeat.
