How many trick shots do you think a CFL long snapper has up his sleeve?
Although your initial answer might be a straight “no,” Toronto Argonauts long snapper Jake Reinhart is here to prove you wrong.
In this incredible “Roof Top Shot,” Reinhart shows how much skill you need to have to be a professional long snapper.
In an impressive display of talent, Reinhart snaps the ball from the roof of a stadium on to the field where a guy standing on the back of a moving field cart (yes, that’s right. I said “MOVING”) makes an incredible one-handed grab.
Let’s break this down a bit deeper - Reinhart first shows incredible ability on his snap by elevating the ball high enough to clear the guard rail with a perfect spiral. To do this on top of generating enough power to get the ball on the field is just flat out insanity.
You can try this at your local neighbourhood field and if you do, we guarantee that you’ll have a lot more appreciation for long snappers than you ever did before.
But why waste your time?
Instead, use it to watch the rest of the talent in the CFL tonight on TSN when the Montreal Alouettes travel to Hamilton to take on the Tiger-Cats at 7pm et/4pm pt.
Be sure to check back every Thursday for another astonishing trick shot; these guys have a ton of talent – and while you’re at it, show off your talents and submit your own trick shots using the hashtag #TNF
