Recap:

2:30 – Anton Thun, NHL Agent (Bolland)

Hockey agent Anton Thun joins Bill and Todd to talk about the upcoming NHL Draft and free agency. He talks about the five or six day period time in which players and teams can court each other and have formal discussions without finalizing a deal. He says it’s a slippery slope. On the topic of Benoit Pouliot, he says that he’s finally developing into a well-rounded NHL player, and he expects him to get a longer-term deal in the offseason. He says that as of this moment he’s spoken to a third of the league regarding his client, Dave Bolland, and that Dave would like to come back to Toronto, but he also wants to maximize his value. He said he’s still getting healthy, as he wasn’t even close to being ready during the end of the season. On his client, Michael Dal Cole, he says that he’s got one of the best shots in the draft and has a good understanding of the game.

3 – Craig Button, TSN Director of Scouting

Craig Button says it’s special for the players to hear their names called during the NHL Draft. He calls the draft a really good draft, despite the fact he doesn’t see an immediate identifiable superstar. He calls the draft wide-open. Button thinks that Sonny Milano may be a player that teams reach to grab because his resume’ is exciting and impressive. He thinks that the Philadelphia Flyers may move up in the draft to grab the number one pick. He said that teams are talking right now but aren’t actually saying anything, that there’s may be smokescreen’s. He thinks that Aaron Ekblad is worth the first overall pick, and he has a very (not superstar) high ceiling.
