Brendan also discusses the ever-changing expectations of the Blue Jays fan base, saying some fans need to remember just how long the season. Brendan also discusses the need for the offense to carry this team if they’re going to make the playoffs.

Doneil Henry – Toronto FC Defender

Doneil calls in from training ahead of Saturday’s game against Columbus and gives his own reaction to the Andrew Wiggins – Kevin Love trade which broke just as he joined the show. Doneil also discusses his emergence as a key player for TFC this season, as well as his thoughts on the MLS All-Star Game last night.

Jack Armstrong – NBA on TSN Analyst

Jack joins the show with instant reaction to the Love – Wiggins trade, which he says will be great for both players because Kevin Love finally gets out of Minnesota to a contender, while Andrew Wiggins can be a bigger piece to the puzzle in Minnesota than he would have been in Cleveland. Jack points out the timing of this deal for Cleveland, and the 1-2 year window which exists in the East right now, which explains why the Cavs are going all in.

Bill Barnwell – Grantland Staff Writer

Bill joins the show ahead of six NFL preseason games tonight to discuss some of the storylines heading into the season. Bill likes the Falcons and Texans as sleepers this season – Atlanta had everything go wrong last season and Houston’s pass rush can turn things around quickly. Bill also discusses the issues the Cowboys are facing, calling them once again a top-heavy team which will struggle if it suffers injuries.

Mark Simon – ESPN New York / ESPN Stats & Info

Mark joins to break down the American League Wild Card race and which teams pose the biggest threats to the Blue Jays playoff aspirations. Mark discusses how important Brett Lawrie is to the Blue Jays, as well as how the Yankees continue to battle in the AL East with some help from new addition Chris Capuano.

Cliff Corcoran –

Cliff recaps a busy night in Major League Baseball including the Blue Jays series opener against Baltimore, and discusses the weak AL East, saying the Orioles haven't even been that impressive this season. Cliff also discusses the trade market this season and the trend of teams giving up key pieces off the 25-man roster in order to improve their team instead of prospects.

Andrew Sharp – Grantland Staff Writer

Andrew joins the show to chat some hoops on the heels of the Spurs hiring WNBA star Becky Hammon yesterday. Andrew talks about how likable the Spurs organization is, calling this just another step, and points out Hammon's previous work with the Spurs setting the foundation for the move. Andrew also discusses the idea of Drake influencing superstars to come to Toronto, saying Drake fully knows what he's doing.

Ian Rapoport – NFL Media Insider

Ian has been all over NFL training camps and joins the show ahead of tomorrow's first big night of preaseason games. Ian updates the pending sale of the Buffalo Bills and the realistic chance of Jon Bon Jovi becoming an NFL owner. Ian also discusses the Andy Dalton contract, saying that despite the optics, it's really a 2-year, $25 million contract which the Bengals can get out of, similar to what Houston did with Matt Schaub.

Ramona Shelburne – Senior Writer,

Ramona gives her perspective on Becky Hammon's hiring, especially as a high-profile female member of the NBA community. Hammon's hire isn't just big because of her, but the fact that it's a fully-paid coaching gig with the defending champions makes it special. Gregg Popovich continues to reinvent himself each and every year, so it shouldn't be surprising that the Spurs are the team to make this move. Ramona also discusses her own experience in a male-dominated business.

August 5: Show In Review

The Canadian Press

Filling in for Bob and Matt, Gareth Wheeler and Glenn Shiller discuss Jose Bautista’s post trade deadline comments with Steve Simmons and Scott MacArthur, and Rob Mahoney checks in to chat about whether Paul George’s injury will knock the Pacers out of contention in the NBA’s Eastern Conference.

Hour 3:

Hour 3 with Macko & Cauz joined by Rob Mahoney. Hour 3 Audio

Steve Simmons – Sun Media

Steve joins the show to look ahead to the Blue Jays massive series against the Orioles tonight, and discusses some of the dysfunction within the clubhouse - saying a leader like Jose Bautista should have made his concerns known in-house rather than in public. Steve engages in a good debate over what Alex Anthopoulos has managed to accomplish the past two years.

Dave Feschuk – Toronto Star

Dave checks in to discuss the rise of Canadian tennis and whether the success of athletes like Eugenie Bouchard and Milos Raonic is repeatable, or if it's more of a one-time thing. Dave discusses the high costs involved with hiring tennis coaches in Canada - approximately $500,000 worth of lessons for Raonic when he was younger - and wonders if Canadian tennis is really on the rise with such exclusionary costs involved.

Scott MacArthur – TSN Blue Jays Reporter

Scott joins the show ahead of tonight's massive series opener for the Blue Jays against Baltimore. After a disappointing sweep at the hands of the Astros, Scott previews tonight's game and the return of Brett Lawrie from the Disabled List. Scott also offers more perspective on the Jays issues in the clubhouse, praising Jose Bautista for speaking his mind, something athletes rarely do because of the criticism which follows.

Rob Mahoney – NBA Writer

Rob discusses the shift in the balance of power in the NBA’s Eastern Conference following the injury to Paul George. After LeBron James left Miami, there was a question about who would be the new favorites in the East and many thought it to be the Pacers, but Rob believes the George injury is such a massive blow to the Pacers that it could potentially knock them out of the playoffs.

Martin Biron – TSN Hockey / RDS Analyst

Marty breaks down PK Subban’s new contract and discusses the long road for both PK and the Canadiens throughout contract negotiations and the arbitration process. Marty discusses just how important Subban is to the Canadiens and the danger of signing him to another one-year deal, only to deal with the issue yet again a year later. Marty also tells his own arbitration stories, saying he actually enjoyed and learned from the process.

Mark Masters – TSN Reporter

Canada’s tennis sweetheart joins the show to recap the All-Canadian final at the Citi Open and discuss the continuing rise of Canadian tennis after Milos Raonic’s victory. Ryan joins the show to chat some hoops and the aftermath of Paul George’s gruesome injury in the USA intra-squad game. Ryan also discusses the shift in the balance of power in the East with the Heat losing LeBron James and the Pacers losing Paul George to injury this weekend. Ryan also touches on the future of NBA participation in international basketball, and says anytime a high-profile athlete is injured like that, there will naturally be a discussion to follow.

Cathal Kelly – The Globe and Mail

More hoops talk with Cathal as he offers more perspective on the Paul George injury and the future of international basketball and its inclusion of NBA players. Cathal notes that the World Cup of Basketball isn’t something most players care about – but despite the risk of injury, George’s injury could have occurred at any point this summer, no matter where he was playing / practicing. Cathal also touches on the awkward position Andrew Wiggins is in, and the potential for him to be moved in a deal for Kevin Love.

Nick Nurse – Toronto Raptors Assistant Coach

Nick joins the show from Vancouver where he’s running private practice sessions for some of the Raptors like Bruno Caboclo and Lucas Bebe. Nick talks about the learning curve facing Bruno coming in as an 18-year old who doesn’t speak a word of English, and also discusses the criticism that Bruno is still years away from being NBA-ready. Nick also discusses the upcoming season and the changes in the Eastern Conference, especially after Paul George’s injury.
