Jonas Siegel – TSN 1050 Leafs Reporter
Jonas sets the scene ahead of what would have been Cody Franson’s arbitration hearing, and describes the strange relationship Franson has had with Leafs management since coming to Toronto. Despite the two sides reaching a deal shortly after the interview, Jonas says Franson is likely going to be moved, perhaps even before the season begins.
Farrell Evans – ESPN.com Golf Writer
Farrell joins the show to recap Rory McIlroy’s win at the British Open and discusses what it could mean for the future of golf. Farrell also discusses how much of an impact McIlroy can have on the sport in comparison to what Tiger brought to the table, and compares Tiger’s era to Wayne Gretzky’s pedigree in hockey during the 80’s.
John Kryk – NFL Columnist, Sun Media
John checks in with the latest on the Buffalo Bills and a potential move to Toronto – but calls the latest developments in the Bills talks a big blow to the possibility of the team moving to Toronto. The lease agreement preventing the Bills from moving until 2022 is the main hurdle (let alone having an NFL stadium ready by then), and now Bon Jovi and the Toronto-based group are saying they will not try to move the team to Toronto – something Bills fans haven’t bought at this point.
Joe Fletcher – Canadian Assistant Referee
Joe joins the show fresh off returning from the World Cup, where he was able to officiate three games during the 2014 World Cup. Joe discusses his experience in Brazil and the process of being selected for each game, as well as his infamous handshake snub which went viral early on in the tournament, and also gives his thoughts on topics concerning the current state of officiating, such as diving and the use of instant replay.
Scott MacArthur – TSN Blue Jays Reporter
Scott joins the program to recap a series win over Texas for the Blue Jays, as well as discuss Alex Anthopoulos’ conversation with members of the media yesterday. Scott discusses the MLB Trade Deadline and what options the Jays have heading in, as well as the possibility of making a move after the non-waiver deadline.
Ethan Sherwood Strauss – ESPN NBA Analyst
Ethan joins the show to discuss the latest on the Andrew Wiggins-Kevin Love rumors, and the balance between Cleveland trading for Love to win now, or hanging on to Wiggins for the future. Strauss says that by the time Wiggins comes into his own, LeBron James will be in his 30s, whereas a team with LeBron and Kevin Love would be built to win right now. Strauss also discusses the potential for the LeBron story to go horribly wrong in Cleveland under a first-year coach, and points out LeBron’s opt-out clause which he can exercise the second something goes wrong.
