The Bro Jake Show

Monday – Friday, 6am-10pm

Bro Jake Edwards, also known as the Bro, has been a Canadian radio icon over a span of four decades. He began proving his radio chops in the Maritimes back in the 70’s and has called Vancouver home since the mid-90’s where he remains a staple in morning radio entertainment. Bro Jake is renowned for his bombastic and humorous takes on entertainment, every-day life, current-events and of course sports. He is celebrated for the fictional character “The Champ,” a retired boxer going through life misunderstanding comments directed his way or towards his wife as being personal affronts, forcing the Champ to lose it and unleash thunderous boxing combos on unsuspecting commentators.

David Pratt, Bro Jake’s co-host in the morning, does not need much introduction to the Vancouver sports market as he’s been stirring the proverbial pot for over 30 years, pleasing and angering fans and detractors alike. Known for his successful run at the TEAM 1040 in the afternoons with Don Taylor and on TV as host of Last Call on TSN, Pratt’s experience on multiple sports media platforms brings unique and pointed commentary to the Bro Jake Show. Just don’t ask him about cougars and leather pants, for your own safety.

Sekeres & Price

Monday – Friday, 10am-2pm

Matt Sekeres began a new chapter in his broadcast career as co-host of the Sekeres & Price Midday Show on TSN 1040. Formerly the The Globe and Mail’s national sports correspondent in Vancouver, Matt has plenty of experience covering the NHL’s Canucks, the CFL’s Lions, MLS’s Whitecaps, and the British Columbia sports scene. Born in Montreal and raised primarily in Ottawa, Matt has worked for three dailies and for TSN, covering Stanley Cup playoffs, Super Bowls, Olympic Games, Grey Cups and NBA Finals. He moved to Kitsilano, Canada’s best neighbourhood, in 2007, and enjoys travelling, music, entertaining and scuba diving in his spare time.

Blake Price joins Matt Sekeres from 11am to 1pm each day in the Midday Show, bringing his vast experience to show for 2 hours of dedicated sports/Canucks talk. Blake was born in Winnipeg and raised a Jets fan (which explains a lot), but after spending 13 of the last 17 years in Vancouver (and losing the Jets), he now considers the Canucks his hometown team. TSN Radio is Blake’s second tour of duty in talk radio, after spending nearly 3 years at the defunct MOJO Sports Radio. Before that, he spent a downright chilly winter working on TV in Saskatoon, a year on Sportspage in Vancouver, and then 3 years in Toronto working for TSN. And he continues to spout off on TV, working with CTV Sports and TSN. Along with his time in the Midday Show, Blake continues his role as the Pre & Post Game host for the Vancouver Canucks Broadcasts on TSN 1040.

B-Mac & Taylor

Monday – Friday, 2pm-6pm

Barry Macdonald, otherwise known as B-Mac, is one of the foremost and highly respected sports personalities in Vancouver. Originally from Kamloops, Barry started his career as a broadcaster in Williams Lake fresh out of University. His talent for getting into the heart of the action and his enthusiasm for sports, brings life to the game for the listener. “I love what I do, and feel fortunate to be doing it,” says Macdonald. “I’m a BC guy, and I love to tell BC stories.” B-Mac joins longtime friend and fellow Sports Page alum Don Taylor in the broadcast studio for the TSN 1040 Afternoon Show, weekdays 2pm-6pm.

Here’s a new one: A frustrated athlete-turned sportscaster. Loved hockey, loved lacrosse, loved football…pathetic at all of ‘em. As a result, Don Taylor went into a shell. Literally.  At the age of seven, he found a large clamshell on a Stanley Park beach and lived inside of it for several months. To this day, the combination of lemon juice and butter makes him nervous. However, his love for sports endured. Don turned to broadcasting with the hopes of becoming a sports reporter. He attended Phil Swenson’s Jock Talk College. From there it was on to local television and radio in Red Deer and then Vancouver. Now Taylor, synonymous with sports in Vancouver, has covered all aspects of the local sports scene for over 20 years, on both television and radio.   After a long career as anchor of Rogers Sportsnet Pacific’s top-rated Sportsnet News program, Don Taylor made the move to radio full time in September 2014.

Tasting Room Radio

Saturday (times vary)

When Terry David Mulligan and his wife Meg moved to the Naramata Bench above Penticton four years ago, they did so because they loved the people in wine country, and the lifestyle wasn’t bad either. TDM built a radio studio in a 100 yr old barn and thus was born Tasting Room Radio. For four years now Terry has been tasting, sipping and then interviewing all those great people drawn to the wine and food business. Tasting Room Radio makes a weekly point to de-mystify the language of food and wine. “I take the daily conversations between chefs, sommeliers, wine growers/owners/makers, writers, artisans and throw in the occasional celebrity and see how the mix works. Tasting Room Radio is the radio version of an audio blend, a Meritage for the soul.” Join wine guru Terry David Mulligan for Tasting Room Radio, Saturdays on TSN 1410!
