Chalk up two more old-timers for the Winter Classic.
Former Toronto Maple Leaf Tie Domi told TSN Radio 1050 on Thursday that he and fellow team alumnus Mats Sundin will likely play in Winter Classic Alumni game for the Leafs. Outgoing Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment chairman Larry Tanenbaum asked both of them to take part in the game.
Sundin was traded to Toronto from the Quebec Nordiques in 1994 and went on to play 13 seasons with the Maple Leafs, the last 11 as captain. He holds team records for most 20-goal seasons (13), most 30-goal campaigns (10), most game-winning goals (79) and most regular-season overtime goals (14).
Domi spent the final 11 seasons of his career in Toronto and is fourth all-time in NHL penalty minutes with just over 3,500.
He played 1,020 career games in the league with the Leafs, New York Rangers and Winnipeg Jets.
