TORONTO -- As if another loss by the Toronto Blue Jays was not bad enough, some of the announced crowd of 13,556 at Rogers Centre got wet.
As the Blue Jays were struggling in a 12-0 loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday, rain began to fall on some of the fans when the retractable roof did not close in time during the middle innings.
An announcement was made to the fans that because of technical difficulties, the roof was closing more slowly than usual.
Some fans had opened umbrellas while other went to more sheltered areas of the stadium.
Then a fire alarm went off for a short time but an announcement was made that there was no problem.
The roof finally was closed late in the game with little disruption.
