SAN ANTONIO -- Being benched seems to have done the trick for Nazem Kadri and Joe Colborne.

Kadri and Colborne both had their first goals of the season on Saturday, leading the Toronto Marlies' four-goal rally and a 5-3 victory over the San Antonio Rampage in American Hockey League action.

The pair had been healthy scratches in Toronto's 3-0 victory over the Texas Stars on Friday.

Kadri's goal at the 13:49 mark of the third period was the winner for the Marlies (6-4-1). He also added two assists.

Colborne's power-play goal started Toronto's rally, which saw the Marlies score four unanswered goals to rally from a 3-1 deficit. Greg Scott and Jerry D'Amigo had goals in the third period, while Leo Komarov scored in the second.

Goaltender Mark Owuya made 20 saves for the Marlies' third win in a row.

"Very proud of our group," tweeted Toronto head coach Dallas Eakins after the game. "Big step in the right direction."

Jon Rheault and Jean-Francois Jacques scored in the first for San Antonio (4-5-1), while Andre Deveaux had a power-play goal in the second.

Jacob Markstrom stopped 30 of 34 shots for the Rampage. D'Amigo's goal against San Antonio was into an empty net.

Both teams went 1-for-2 on the power play.
