After releasing Noel Prefontaine early this off-season, the Toronto Argonauts said the door wasn't completely closed on the veteran kicker ever playing for the team again.
The door was opened wider today, with the Double Blue announcing they have added Prefontaine to the practice roster.
Argos GM Jim Barker told TSN's Mike Hogan he signed the 39-year-old kicker for insurance if Swayze Waters is to get hurt.
The CFL veteran has been with the Argos the past two and a half seasons after also spending the first 10 seasons of his career in Toronto.
Last year he went 10-15 on field goal attempts and averaged 42.9 yards per punt after returning from off-season hip surgery.
For his career Prefontaine has connected on 72.6% of his field goals.
