Potential first overall NHL draft picks Nathan MacKinnon, Sam Reinhart and Connor McDavid are among the 35 players invited to Canada's National Junior Team summer development camp, as announced Friday by Hockey Canada and the Canadian Hockey League.

The camp is set for Aug. 4-10 in Brossard, Que., and Lake Placid, N.Y.

MacKinnon, who is expected to be taken first overall by the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday, was a member of Team Canada at the 2013 World Junior Hockey Championship earning one assist in six games.

Reinhart, an early favourite for top spot at the 2014 NHL Draft, captained Canada's National Men's Summer Under-18 Team to a gold medal at the Memorial of Ivan Hlinka tournament in the Czech Republic and Slovakia last August. The Kootenay Ice centre was one of several cuts from last year's World Junior selection camp.

McDavid, 16, has already been tagged as a lock to go first overall in the 2015 NHL Draft. He scored 25 goals and 41 assists for 66 points in 63 games to finish second in rookie scoring as the OHL's youngest player.

Other notable invitees include 2013 NHL Draft prospects Darnell Nurse, Max Domi and Team Canada returnee Jonathan Drouin. Also on the list are Team Canada carry-overs Morgan Rielly, Griffin Reinhart and Charles Hudon.

Canada's roster, comprised of three goaltenders, 12 defencemen and 20 forwards, was selected by Ryan Jankowski, head scout of the men's Program of Excellence for Hockey Canada, along with Hockey Canada senior director of hockey operations and national teams Scott Salmond and the newly-formed Program of Excellence management group including Sean Burke and Bruce Hamilton.
