Jamel Richardson was a surprise cut by the Montreal Alouettes on Saturday but he may not be out of work for long.
According to TSN's Farhan Lalji, Richardson is heading to Toronto for a physical and is expected to sign with the Argonauts. While it was reported Saturday the Alouettes expected Richardson to miss half the season while he continues to recover from a knee injury suffered last year, the Argonauts could sign him and place him on the six-game injury list if they're satisfied with what they see during his physical.
A 10-year veteran, Richardson surpassed 1,000 yards receiving in five of his six seasons in Montreal. The 32-year-old had just 18 catches for 197 yards last season but missed 13 games due to injury.
