Lightning acquire Commodore from Red Wings

The Tampa Bay Lightning have acquired defenceman Mike Commodore from the Detroit Red Wings for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2013.

The 32-year-old has two assists in 17 games with the Wings this season.

Tthe veteran defenceman has scored 23 goals and added 83 assists in 471 career NHL games with the Devils, Flames, Hurricanes, Senators and Blue Jackets.

Commodore is currently on a one-year, $1 million contract. He will be an unrestricted free agent after this season.

Appearing in 53 career playoff games, Commodore has twice reached the Stanley Cup Finals, winning with Carolina in 2006.
