The Philadelphia Flyers have traded defenceman Andrej Meszaros to the Boston Bruins in exchange for a third-round draft pick.

In 38 games with the Flyers this season, Meszaros has scored five goals an added 12 assists.

Meszaros, 28, is currently in the final year of a six-year deal he signed prior to the 2008-09 season worth an average annual value of $4 million. He is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

Originally selected 23rd overall by the Ottawa Senators at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Meszaros has scored 54 goals and added 165 assists in 571 career games with the Senators, Flyers and Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Slovakian defenceman has represented his country on the international stage on a number of occasions, including the last three Olympic Games.
