Michael Whalen is one of TSN's most experienced reporters with more than 25 years experience in the broadcast industry.

Since joining TSN in 1985, Whalen has covered amateur and professional sports in Quebec, including the Montreal Canadiens, and the now defunct Montreal Expos and Quebec Nordiques.

It's been a long road since Whalen first came into the industry. Whalen began working for CBC-Radio in Montreal as a co-host on the drive home show, and as a science and medicine reporter for CFCF-TV in Montreal.

Some of the many stories Whalen has covered with TSN over the years include the 1986 and 1993 Canadiens' drive to the Stanley Cup, the demise of MLB's Montreal Expos and the sale of the Quebec Nordiques to Colorado. He was a key figure in TSN's coverage of the landmark NHL labour dispute of 1994-95, and is the main source for National League baseball information.
