CHICAGO - The U.S. soccer team will play an exhibition against Brazil on Sept. 8 at Foxborough, Massachusetts.

The game, announced Thursday, follows a Sept. 4 match against Peru at Washington, D.C.

American goalkeeper Tim Howard hopes to return for the games from his one-year sabbatical from the national team after last year's World Cup. The U.S. is 1-16 against Brazil.

The Americans will play Mexico or Jamaica on Oct. 9 to determine which team represents CONCACAF in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup. As the 2013 Gold Cup champ, the U.S. will face the 2015 winner in the playoff.

Jamaica beat the Americans in the Gold Cup semifinals Wednesday and faces Mexico on Sunday for the title.

CONCACAF has yet to announce the location for the playoff.
