MANCHESTER, England - Dutch coach Louis van Gaal says he will retire from football at the end of his spell in charge of Manchester United.

The 63-year-old Van Gaal tells British newspaper The Daily Telegraph that "this is my last job. For sure. I have to pay attention to my kids, my grandchildren, but also to my wife."

Van Gaal, who has a contract with United until 2017, has been coaching for almost 30 years, and is one of the most respected managers in the world after spells with Ajax, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and AZ Alkmaar.

He has also had two stints in charge of the Netherlands.
