TSN's Laura Diakun is with Team Canada at the IIHF World Hockey Championship.  It was all hands on deck for head coach Jon Cooper save for defenceman Marc-Edouard Vlasic, who will join the team in Paris.

- Marc-Edouard Vlasic is not practicing with the team in Geneva but will rather meet them in Paris. The move was made to give Vlasic a little more rest.

- Calvin Pickard was a happy camper because his equipment finally arrived from Florence.

- Much like Day 2, the roster was divided into three groups Monday based on colour:

WHITE: Brayden Schenn, Brayden Point, Mitch Marner, Alex Killorn, Sean Couturier, Wayne Simmonds and Travis Konecny

BLACK: Calvin de Haan, Jason Demers, Michael Matheson, Tyson Barrie, Josh Morrissey, Chris Lee and Mike Card.

RED: Mark Scheifele, Claude Giroux, Nathan MacKinnon, Ryan O'Reilly, Matt Duchene and Jeff Skinner

*Lee and Card are the two Canadian internationals taking part in Geneva.

After 45 minutes, some players switched jerseys again and the focus shifted to special teams

WHITE: Killorn, Konecny, Couturier, Duchene, and Point

RED: Simmonds, Marner, Giroux, Scheifele, Schenn, O'Reilly, Skinner, and MacKinnon.

BLACK: de Haan, Demers, Matheson, Barrie, Morrissey, Lee and Card

- Duchene switched to a red jersey midway through the drills.

- Assistant coach Dave Hakstol ran the practice early on before Jon Cooper took over. The team was really going hard, trademark speed was definitely on display. Cooper seemed pleased with practice saying the team keeps getting better.

- The team leaves for Paris on May 3 and will not practice that day. They will practice on May 4, there is a separate practice rink at the Accorhotels venue.
