OTTAWA — The Vancouver Whitecaps have loaned Canadian international defender Doneil Henry to Ottawa Fury FC of the United Soccer League.

The 25-year-old from Brampton, Ont., joined the Whitecaps in December after three injury-plagued years with England's West Ham that included loan stints with Blackburn Rovers and Denmark's AC Horsens.

He has not seen any MLS action with the Whitecaps.

"Doneil has worked extremely hard to get himself fit this season," Whitecaps head coach Carl Robinson said in a statement. "This is a great opportunity for him to play in some games and take that important next step in his recovery before returning to the club in a month's time."

Henry has made 22 appearances for Canada.
