SPOKANE, Wash. - Rourke Chartier scored two goals — including the eventual winner at 9:18 of the third period — as the Kelowna Rockets edged the Spokane Chiefs 4-3 in Western Hockey League action on Tuesday.

Tyrell Goulbourne and Cole Linaker also scored for the league-best Rockets (17-1-1), while Jesse Lees and Nick Merkley chipped in with two assists apiece.

Riley Whittingham found the back of the net twice for the Chiefs (8-5-3), who outshot Kelowna 31-24. Adam Helewka added the other Spokane goal.

Jackson Whistle made 28 saves in the win. Garret Hughson turned aside 20 shots in the losing effort.

The Chiefs were 1 for 4 on the power play while the Rockets failed to score on five opportunities with the man advantage.
