BRANDON, Man. — Nolan Patrick sent the game to extra time with a goal at 19:13 of the third period and then scored the shootout winner as the Brandon Wheat Kings slipped past Swift Current Broncos 4-3 on Friday night in Western Hockey League action.

Stelio Mattheos, on the power play, and Tanner Kaspick, shorthanded, also had goals for the Wheat Kings (2-1-1). Logan Thompson made 21 saves in net.

Riley Stotts struck twice for Swift Current (4-2-1) with Aleksi Heponiemi adding the other. Travis Child turned away 31-of-34 shots through regulation and overtime.

Brandon went 1 for 2 on the power play while the Broncos were scoreless on five opportunities with the man advantage.

CALGARY — Matteo Gennaro scored the winner on the power play in the third and Cody Porter made 26 saves as the Hitmen slipped past Kamloops.

Carsen Twarynski tied the game at 1-1 in the third with a power-play goal for Calgary (3-1-0).

Quinn Benjafield got the Blazers (2-5-0) on the board in the first with Max Palaga stopping 34 shots in goal.

EDMONTON — Michael Herringer stopped all 38 shots he faced as Kelowna blanked the Oil Kings.

Calvin Thurkauf scored the game's lone goal just past the midway point of the third period for the Rockets (3-4-0).

Liam Hughes turned away 33-of-34 shots in goal for Edmonton (2-3-1).

MOOSE JAW, Sask. — Cody Glass had two goals and an assist and Skyler McKenzie also scored twice as Portland toppled the Warriors.

Lane Gilliss started the comeback for the Winterhawks (5-2-0), who fell behind 2-0 in the first period before rallying for five straight goals. Cole Kehler made 20 saves.

Brett Howden and Ryan Bowen, on the power play, chipped in for Moose Jaw (3-1-2), which got 37 stops from Brody Willms.

RED DEER, Alta. — David Quenneville scored a hat trick and Steven Owre had three assists as Medicine Hat downed the Rebels.

Chad Butcher had a goal and three assists, Mason Shaw had a goal and two assists and Mark Rassell also scored for the Tigers (5-1-0). Nick Schneider made 37 saves.

Michael Spacek found the back of the net for his first two goals of the season for Red Deer (2-3-2). Evan Polei also chipped in and Riley Lamb turned aside 28-of-34 shots.

REGINA — Keenan Taphorn scored 4:06 into overtime and Payton Lee made 44 saves as Kootenay topped the Pats.

Zak Zborosky struck twice with Matt Alfaro adding the other for the Ice (1-3-2).

Lane Zablocki, Sergey Zborovskiy and Dawson Leedahl, on the power play, supplied the offence for Regina (3-0-2).

Austin Wagner of the Pats was ejected in the first period after receiving a major penalty for checking from behind.

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — Jesse Gabrielle had two goals and an assist and Ty Edmonds stopped 24 shots as the Cougars defeated Vancouver.

Kody McDonald, on the power play, Josh Curtis and Yan Khomenko rounded out the attack for Prince George (7-0-0).

Thomas Foster and Jack Flaman scored for the Giants (1-6-0), who got 30 saves from Ryan Kubic.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Tyler Wong had two goals and an assist and Stuart Skinner stopped 30 shots as Lethbridge beat the Chiefs.

Calen Addison, Ryley Lindgren and Egor Babenko supplied the rest of the offence for the Hurricanes (4-2-0).

Keanu Yamamoto scored once and tacked on two assists for Spokane (1-2-0). Jaret Anderson-Dolan and Pavel Kousal also had goals while Jayden Sittler kicked out 8-of-13 shots.
