PORTLAND, Ore. - Nicolas Petan scored twice and set up another as the Portland Winterhawks hammered the visiting Everett Silvertips 7-1 on Sunday in Western Hockey League action.

Alex Schoeborn added a pair of goals for the Winterhawks (9-11-3) while Miles Koules, Blake Heinrich and Oliver Bjorkstarnd each tacked on a goal and an assist.

Kohl Bauml scored for the Silvertips (14-3-3).

Portland's Brenden Burke made 20 saves for the win. Austin Lotz started in net for Everett and allowed six goals on 30 shots through two periods of play. Carter Hart came in for the third period and stopped 9-of-10 shots in relief.

The Winterhawks went 3 for 5 on the power play while the Silvertips failed to score on six chances with the man advantage.

Everett head coach Kevin Constantine was ejected late in the first period after an altercation with the referees.

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. — Glenn Gawdin set up Colby Cave's second-period goal and then scored the eventual winner less than two minutes later as the Broncos slipped past Seattle.

Landow Bow turned away 23-of-24 shots for Swift Current (12-8-4).

Ethan Bear scored the lone goal for the Thunderbirds (9-10-3) while Taran Kozun made 25 saves in defeat.

HITMEN 4 BLADES 1

CALGARY — Connor Rankin set up the game's first goal and then added an empty netter to end it as the Hitmen cruised past Saskatoon.

Kenton Helgesen, Michael Zipp and Ben Thomas also scored for Calgary (11-8-3) while Evan Johnson made 22 saves for the win.

Adam Henry supplied the scoring for the Blades (6-16-0), who got a 47-save performance from Trevor Martin.
