SASKATOON - Jakob Stukel scored 1:50 into overtime and Cody Porter made 39 saves as the Vancouver Giants edged the host Saskatoon Blades 5-4 on Sunday in Western Hockey League action.

Carter Popoff, Dakota Odgers, Matt Barberis and and Ty Ronning also scored for the Giants (3-0-1) while Clayton Kirichenko and Dawson Holt each tacked on two assists.

Saskatoon's Ryan Graham forced extra time when he beat Porter with just 39 seconds to play in regulation time.

Cameron Hebig led the Blades (1-0-3) offensively with a goal and two assists. Jake Kustra and Lukas MacKenzie had the other goals and Connor Gay, Nick Zajac and Brycen Martin added two helpers apiece.

Saskatoon's Brock Hamm kicked out 32-of-37 shots in a losing cause.

Vancouver went 1 for 4 on the power play while the Blades scored twice on eight chances with the man advantage.

OIL KINGS 3 BRONCOS 2 (OT)

EDMONTON — Brett Pollock scored 2:28 into the extra period as the Oil Kings came from behind to hand Swift Current its third straight loss.

Luke Bertolucci and Dysin Mayo also scored for Edmonton (1-2-1), which trailed 2-0 midway through the second period, while Alec Dillon made 28 saves for the victory.

Landon Bow gave the Broncos (1-2-1) a chance to win by turning aside 50-of-53 shots, including 39 in the final 40 minutes of regulation. Jake DeBrusk and Brandan Arnold supplied the offence.

REGINA — Lasse Petersen made 19 saves and Travis Sanheim had a goal and an assist as Calgary blanked the Pats.

Elliott Peterson and Pavel Karnaukhov also found the back of the net for the Hitmen (4-1-0).

Tyler Brown stopped 29-of-32 shots for Regina (1-3-0).

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. — Gage Quinney had two goals and an assist while Tyson Baillie and Tomas Soustal each produced a goal and two helpers as Kelown doubled up the Hurricanes.

Justin Kirkland and Dillon Dube also scored for the Rockets (4-2-0) as Jackson Whistle made 39 saves for the win.

Tyler Wong had a pair of goals for Lethbridge (2-2-0) and Justin Gutierrez added the other. Stuart Skinner stopped 27 shots in a losing cause.

AMERICANS 6 THUNDERBIRDS 5 (OT)

KENNEWICK, Wash. — Parker Wotherspoon salvaged a victory for Tri-City after blowing a five-goal lead when he scored 2:13 into overtime

Parker Bowles, Vladislav Lukin, Beau McCue, Juuso Valimaki and Jordan Topping put the Americans (1-1-1) ahead 5-0 just 1:36 into the second period before Seattle stormed back. Evan Sarthou finished with 17 saves for the win.

Alexander True struck twice for the Thunderbirds (1-1-1), who also got goals from Keegan Kolesar, Gustav Olhaver and Kaden Elder. Taz Burman allowed four goals on 14 shots in 17:55 of action before getting yanked. Logan Flodell stopped 14-of-16 shots in relief.
