American Serena Williams and Russian Maria Sharapova are set to battle in the Australian Open women’s final in Melbourne.

The top ranked Williams, who has been battling a cold all week long, will go for her 19th Grand Slam singles final victory against the second seeded Sharapova. Williams has a career 16-2 record versus Sharapova and hasn’t lost against her since 2004.

Sharapova bettered countrywoman Ekaterina Makarova and Canadian Eugenie Bouchard in straight sets in the semifinals and quarterfinals respectively.

Williams, 33, beat Dominika Cibulková  6-2, 6-2 in the quarters and fellow American Madison Keys 7-6, 6-2 in the semifinals.

Williams has five Aussie Open titles in five final appearances while the 27-year-old Sharapova has won once in three trips to this Major’s final.
