The Winnipeg Jets (18-19-2) open a six-game home stand at MTS Centre in a 2pm ct face off this afternoon against the Philadelphia Flyers (17-17-3).

TSN 1290's exclusive game day coverage is already underway as of 8am ct.

The Jets will try to end a season high five-game losing streak today. They are currently secon in the SouthEast Division with 38 points. Washington, also with 38 points, is in first place since they have played two less games than Winnipeg. The Capitals play on the road tonight against the Florida Panthers.

Neither team skated at MTS Centre this morning due to the matinee start.

Ondrej Pavelec will start his fifth consecutive game. His record is 15-18-2, with a 2.88 goals against average and .902 save percentage.

Head Coach Claude Noel confirmed yesterday to TSN 1290 the "Dustin Byfuglien Experiment" at forward is over. Noel said, "he's a defenseman".

Byfulgien leads all NHL defencemen with 113 shots on goal.

If he plays, it will be newly acquired forward Mike Santorelli's 200th career NHL game.

Winnipeg's power play is 0-for-16 in the last five games. The penalty kill has struggled as well in the last two games, allowing three goals on three attempted kills against the Islanders and Canadiens.

The Flyers are riding a four game winning streak.

Ilya Bryzgalov has either started or seen action in the last 21 consecutive games.

A number of Flyers are on a roll lately offensively:

Simon Gagne and Jakub Voracek have scored and put up three points in back to back games.

Matt Read is on a five-game point streak (two goals and three assists).

Sean Couturier (1-4-5) and Ruslan Fedotenko (2-2-4) are on four-game point streaks.

Claude Giroux is on a three-game point streak (one goal and four assists).

Philadelphia has the second-ranked power play in the NHL scoring on 24 percent of their opportunities with the man advantage. That includes scoring four goals on 10 attempts against Winnipeg.

The Flyers have won both games against the Jets this season by a combined score of 8-5. Voracek has five assists and Brayden Schenn has three goals and an assist in those games to lead Philly, while Blake Wheeler has three helpers and Andrew Ladd has scored twice for Winnipeg.
