As the Winnipeg Jets continue to try and find the game they need to play in the Western Conference's Central Division, a familiar foe from their old Southeast Division days is in town, as they host the Washington Capitals for the only time this regular season at MTS Centre. This is the Jets' final game of a six-game homestand, where they are 2-3, thus far.

Evander Kane leads the team in scoring with five goals and has scored in consecutive games.

The Jets (4-5) sit sixth in the Central, three points behind the joint first-place St. Louis Blues and Nashville Predators.

The Capitals (3-5, fifth in the Metropolitan Division) are beginning a four-game western Canadian swing that will also see stops in Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. Washington owns the top power play in the NHL (33 per cent) and have four goals in nine opportunities on the road.

With the Capitals comes Jets-killer, Alexander Ovechkin. In 53 career games against the Thrashers/Jets, the Capitals captain has 38 goals and 40 assists.

The MTS Centre will also be welcoming back former Jet Eric Fehr, who has been moved to centre by Capitals head coach Adam Oates.

In the last 10 meeting between the two clubs, the Capitals are 6-2-2, having won the last four encounters.

The two teams will meet again on February 6th at the Verizon Center in Washington.

Ondrej Pavelec is expected to start his fourth-consecutive game in goal for the Jets, while Braden Holtby is expected to counter for the Capitals.

The Jets held an optional pregame skate Tuesday morning, but ran with the following lines at Monday's practice:

Kane-Scheifele-Wheeler
Ladd-Little-Setoguchi
Halischuk-Jokinen-Frolik
Wright-Cormier-Peluso

Clitsome-Byfuglien
Enstrom-Bogosian
Pardy-Postma

Capitals Projected Lines:

Johansson-Backstrom-Ovechkin
Erat-Laich-Brouwer
Chimera-Grabovski-Ward
Volpatti-Fehr-Wilson

Alzner-Carlson
Schmidt-Green
Erskine-Olesky
