Jets Report: Winnipeg looks to regain form against Oilers

The Winnipeg Jets play their final game before the Christmas break in Edmonton.  It's an 8:30pm ct face off on TSN 1290 Radio and TSN Jets TV.

This is the second of three games between these teams this season.  Dustin Byfuglien has three assists as the Jets opened the NHL regular season here October 1st at Rexall Place with a 5-4 win.

The (16-17-5) Jets remain 6th in the Central Division with 37 points.  They trail 6th place Dallas by three points and are one point up on 7th place Nashville.  The Stars have three games in hand on Winnipeg while the Predators have two.

Ondrej Pavelec (11-15-4, 2.84, .908) will start in goal.

Mark Scheifele is on a six game point streak in which he has three goals and five assists.  Since returning from injury where he missed eight games, #55 has 13 points (three goals and five assists) in his last 14 games.

Evander Kane has scored in back to back games and has five points (three goals and two assists) in his last four games.

After being held off the score sheet last night for the first time this season, Bryan Little has not registered a point in his last three games.

Saturday's 6-0 loss at home to St. Louis has the Oilers on a six game losing streak entering tonight's game.  They have scored just 6 goals in their last 6 games being shut out three times.

The (11-24-3) Oilers are 7th in the Pacific Division with 25 points.  They trail 6th place Calgary seven points.  The Flames also have two games in hand.

Ilya Bryzgalov (1-4, 2.94, .917) will start in goal.
