The Montreal Canadiens have agreed to terms with forward Ryan White to a one-year contract.
The deal will pay him $687,500 next season.
White, 24, was tendered a qualifying offer on Monday by the Canadiens and he was set to become a restricted free agent on Sunday.
He missed 53 games due to hernia surgery last season and tallied three assists and 61 penalty minutes in 20 games. He was Montreal's third-round pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
