Each week, The CFL on TSN panel will break down three hot button topics from around the Canadian Football League. This week it's an all Tiger-Cats edition of Three Downs as they discuss great moments in franchise history as they prepare to say goodbye to Ivor Wynne Stadium.
First Down: Who is your all-time Hamilton Tiger-Cat?
A) Angelo Mosca B) Earl Winfield C) Danny McManus D)Audible
Milt Stegall: Audible- Joe Montford. 135 sacks in his career, that is fifth all-time in the CFL. Three-time defensive player of the year and he was the one player that could change a game on defence like a quarterback can on offence.
Matt Dunnigan: Danny McManus. Eight seasons as the Ticats quarterback, he won the cup there in '99, which was the same year he was named Most Outstanding Player. He had 164 passing touchdowns as a Ticat and almost 34,000 yards makes it an easy choice.
Chris Schultz: Audible- Bernie Faloney. He is in the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, he played in eight Grey Cups winning two with the Tiger-Cats and he was a big part of that history.
Second Down: What is the greatest/best moment from Ivor Wynne Stadium?
A) Ticats winning '72 Grey Cup B) Eddie Brown Catch in '96 Grey Cup C) Pink Floyd Blow Up The Scoreboard D) Audible
Schultz: Ticats winning the '72 Grey Cup. It was the first year that the Ticats had Astroturf and it was big for them to come in and win that game. We all though Astroturf determined winning and losing.
Stegall: Eddie Brown Catch. In '72 I was only two years old. I don't know much about Pink Floyd, so I'm going to go with Eddie Brown. Spectacular catch under the weather conditions.
Dunnigan: Ticats winning the '72 grey Cup. It's only been done as the home or host team a few times. They did it in '72, the Montreal Alouettes did it in '77 and the BC Lions did it last year and in 1994.
Third Down: What are you feeling with the end of Ivor Wynne Stadium?
A) Sad- End Of An Era B) Happy- It Was A Great Place C) It's About Time D) Depressed- I Feel Old
Dunnigan: I'm happy but it's about time. This is a tough one for me because this place took my career in 1996. I'm going to combine two of these because I'm happy it was a great place but it is about time.
Stegall: It's about time. There are three stadiums in the CFL that need to be replaced, this one, the one in Winnipeg and the one in Regina. Great history made at Ivor Wynne and we all had a great time there but it's time for an upgrade.
Schultz: Depressed. Without Ivor Wynne I'm depressed, I'm melancholy, I want to go home.
