ALBANY, N.Y. -- Aaron Gagnon scored a short-handed goal in the second period, and a power-play goal in the third, to lead the St. John's IceCaps to a 4-2 victory over the Albany Devils in American Hockey League action Wednesday.

Gagnon's first goal at 3:20 of the second period gave St. John's a 3-1 lead, and his second, at 8:25 of the third, made it 4-1 while extending his point streak to a franchise-record 11 games.

Joe Whitney opened the scoring for Albany, but Jason Jaffrey tied it for St. John's (28-33-5) midway through the first period just after a power play expired. Jaffrey also had a pair of assists.

Eric O'Dell set an IceCaps record when he scored for the sixth game in a row to make it 2-1 on a power play in the opening minute of the second period. The goal was his 25th of the season, which is also a franchise record.

Brandon Burlon closed out the scoring for Albany (27-26-11).

Mark Dekanich made 21 saves for the IceCaps, while Jeff Frazee stopped 17 shots for the Devils.

St. John's was 2 for 7 on the power play, while Albany was 1 for 6.
