The Winnipeg Blue Bombers took another hit on offence with wide receiver Chris Matthews expected to miss the next 4-6 weeks with a strained tendon in his foot.

Matthews, last year's Most Outstanding Rookie, has 14 catches for 138 yards and one touchdown this season. The 23-year-old divisional all-star has only suited up in four games this year due to injury.

Doug Pierce is expected to step in for Matthews in the starting lineup.
