Wolf Pack edge Marlies, stay alive in playoff hunt

TORONTO - Magnus Hellberg made 27 saves, including 14 in the third period, as the Hartford Wolf Pack edged the Toronto Marlies 3-2 in American Hockey League action Wednesday afternoon.
Luke Adam had the winning goal for the Wolf Pack (40-31-3) at 9:49 of the second period. Nicklas Jensen and Chad Nehring also scored.
Sam Carrick and Connor Carrick, on a power play, scored for the Marlies (52-16-6), while Antoine Bibeau stopped 26 shots.
The Wolf Pack stayed alive for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Hartford (83 points) is two points behind Bridgeport for a potential crossover spot from the Atlantic Division to the North Division. Bridgeport has three games left to play, while Hartford has two.
The Marlies have already clinched the AHL regular-season title.
