Sidney Crosby has arrived back in Quebec, but he is missing the jersey he wore when Canada earned gold at the World Junior Hockey Championship.
Crosby's red No. 9 jersey from Tuesday's title game was missing from his equipment bag when he returned home and Air Canada has launched an internal investigation.
''We fully recognize the importance of this jersey and how special it is to Sidney,'' Laura Cooke, a spokesperson with Air Canada in Toronto, said to the Toronto Star. ''But at this point in time, there's no indication that the jersey was lost while under our care.
''That said, we are doing everything possible to locate it, if it was in fact lost during his flight.
Crosby could not be reached for comment, but his mother spoke to the Toronto Star.
``There's not any words to describe how disappointing and upsetting the whole thing is,'' Trina Crosby said from the family home in Cole Harbour, N.S.
