Team Canada returned to the ice Tuesday for its first practice since thumping Finland 8-1 in their opening game at the 2012 World Junior Hockey Championship.
The first order of business was re-arranging the lines due to the tournament-ending injury to forward Devante Smith-Pelly, who broke his foot against Finland. Canada is not allowed to bring in a player to replace Smith-Pelly, so they are going with 12 forwards. Brett Connolly was moved into Smith-Pelly's spot on the third line with Quinton Howden and Freddie Hamilton. Connolly's old spot ont he fourth line will be assumed by Tanner Pearson, who had been serving as the 13th forward.
Canada's next game is Wednesday against the Czech Republic (7:30pm et/4:30pm pt on TSN, TSN.ca and TSN Mobile TV).
