Campbell River, BC's Barry Kazimer has the chance to become an instant millionaire tonight, as the 48-year-old retired military veteran takes to the ice in TSN's sixth annual, international award-winning million-dollar giveaway, the Chevrolet Volt Million Dollar Shootout.

The event airs live tonight on TSN and TSN Mobile TV during the first intermission of the 2012 IIHF WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP round-robin game featuring Canada vs. USA (game coverage begins at 7:30 p.m. ET).

Kazimer has 24 seconds to shoot 20 pucks into an open net from the far blue line.  If he scores 15 or more goals within the allotted time, he wins $1 million in a one-time payout.*

Yesterday, Kazimer honed his wrist shot in a special one-hour practice session with Hall of Fame defenceman and Chevrolet Hockey Ambassador Bobby Orr at Rexall Place in Edmonton.  In multiple attempts from the far blue line, Kazimer's best results were 12 and 13 goals, but he has scored 15 goals previously in practice back home in Campbell River.

As part of tonight's event, Kazimer also has the chance to win up to three all-new Chevrolet Volt electric vehicles for himself and his two shooters: cousin Stew Patterson and brother-in-law Ken Bilski.  Depending on the number of total goals scored as a group, prizes are awarded as follows:
• 5-9 goals – Kazimer wins a new Chevrolet Volt
• 10 or more goals – Kazimer, Patterson and Bilski each win a new Chevrolet Volt

Kazimer was randomly chosen to participate in the Chevrolet Volt Million Dollar Shootout from more than 26 million total online entries.
