After winning Game 1 of the series by a score of 3-2, Canada fell 6-3 to Russia in a penalty-filled affair in Game 2.
Team Canada's Mark Scheifele was ejected in the scoreless first period on a game misconduct after a kneeing call on Kirill Kapustin, who went on to be the difference maker with a hat trick in the game.
"We knew that if we took poor penalties and were soft with our discipline we were going to allow them to stay in the game," head coach Steve Spott said. "Ultimately, for me, that was the difference in the game."
Goaltender Maxime Lagace, defencemen Dougie Hamilton, Xavier Ouellet and Griffin Reinhart and forwards Brendan Leipsic and Hunter Shinkaruk will not suit up for Canada tonight.
Reinhart is dealing with a stinger.
"Our doctors will decide going forward whether he'll see another game," said Spott. "He's got a good range of motion and the pain's definitely subsided."
Laurent Brossoit will start in goal for Canada.
