NEW YORK, N.Y. - The New York Yankees agreed to a one-year, $4.3 million contract with right-hander Michael Pineda and a one-year, $3.2 million deal with infielder-outfielder Dustin Ackley, forgoing salary arbitration with both.

The Yankees also on Friday exchanged arbitration figures with pitchers Aroldis Chapman, Ivan Nova and Nathan Eovaldi, and shortstop Didi Gregorius.

Chapman asked for $13 million, and the Yankees offered the new closer $9 million. Chapman could lose a portion his salary if he is suspended under the baseball's new domestic violence policy. The left-hander is being investigated by MLB for his role in an incident with his girlfriend in South Florida in late October.

Gregorius asked for $2,525,000 and the Yankees offered $2.3 million, Nova filed for $4.6 million and New York proposed $3.8 million, and Eovaldi wants $6.3 million while the team is offering $4.9 mil.

Pineda, who will turn 27 on Monday, was acquired from Seattle in the winter of 2012. He missed the next two seasons with shoulder trouble and has been beset by injuries the past two seasons. He is 17-15 with a 3.51 ERA in 40 starts for the Yankees. Last year, he made 27 starts and had career-high 12 wins.

He is expected to be the No. 2 or 3 starter in New York's rotation.

A .243 hitter with Seattle over five seasons, the Yankees obtained Ackley, 27, on July 30, and he hit .288 over 23 games. He had four homers and 11 RBIs while playing second base, first base and left field.

Ackley batted .231 with 10 homers and 19 RBIs overall last year.

Also, the Yankees claimed minor league outfielder Lane Adams off waivers from Kansas City and designated infielder Ronald Torreyes for assignment. Torreyes was obtained in a trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday.
