The Vancouver Canucks have signed restricted free agent Markus Granlund to a one-year contract worth $1.475 million.

The 25-year old forward scored eight goals and posted 12 points in 53 games with the Canucks this past season, his third with the team.

In 224 career games, Granlund has recorded 43 goals and 32 assists.

In February 2016, Granlund was traded from the Calgary Flames to the Canucks in exchange for Hunter Shinkaruk.

Granlund is coming off a two-year contract worth $1.8 million - an AAV of $900,000.

He was drafted by the Flames in the second round (No. 45 overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
