LANGLEY, B.C. — Filip Lindberg and Lassi Lehtinen combined for a nine-save shutout as Finland crushed Denmark 7-0 on Wednesday in pre-competition action ahead of the world junior hockey championship.

Anton Lundell had a pair of goals to lead Finland's offence, while Jesse Ylonen scored and added two assists. Aleksi Heponiemi, Rasmus Kupari, Sami Moilanen and Santeri Virtanen rounded out the attack.

Mads Sogaard stopped 33 shots for Denmark.

Finland will begin the world junior hockey championship on Dec. 26 against Sweden in Victoria. The Danes will play Canada on Boxing Day in Vancouver.

In Nanaimo, B.C., Jakub Pour and Petr Cajka scored in the shootout as the Czech Republic beat Slovakia 2-1.

Jakub Lauko scored in regulation time for the Czechs and Martin Fehervary's power-play goal opened the scoring for Slovakia.

In Port Alberni, B.C. Maxim Musorov struck twice to lift Kazakhstan over the BCHL's Alberni Valley Bulldogs 5-2.

Sayan Daniyar, Valeriy Orekhov and Danil Tretyakovskiy also scored for Kazakhstan.

Dawson Tritt and Keaton Mastrodonato replied for the Bulldogs.

And in Victoria, Maxime Comtois scored twice as Canada beat Switzerland 5-3 in its first tournament tune-up game.
