Philadelphia Flyers veteran forward Dale Weise cleared waivers on Wednesday and can now be assigned to the AHL's Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

Weise, 30, is signed through next season at a $2.35 million cap hit, though sending him to the AHL would free up roughly $1 million in cap space for the Flyers.

He has five goals and 11 points in 42 games this season.

A veteran of 481 career games, Weise has 54 goals and 120 points over the course of his career with the New York Rangers, Vancouver Canucks. Montreal Canadiens, Chicago Blackhawks and Flyers.
