The NFL is planning to suspend Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston three games for violating the league's personal conduct policy, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Schefter reports the planned suspension is in response to an alleged incident with an Uber driver in March of 2016.

According to multiple reports, Winston was aware of the possibility of a suspension. Schefter reports the league could hand down the punishment as early as Friday, or sometime next week.

The length of the suspension is subject to change because it is unofficial.

Last season, Winston threw for 3,504 yards and 19 touchdowns compared to 11 interceptions in 13 games. He is set to enter his fourth season in the NFL after being drafted out of Florida State in 2015.

Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is a possibility to fill in for Tampa Bay should Winston's suspension go through.
