CHARLOTTETOWN — Alexis Gravel made 42 saves and Elliot Desnoyers capped a three-goal first period with the eventual winner as the Halifax Mooseheads upset the Charlottetown Islanders 5-2 on Wednesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Desnoyers also had two assists for a three-point effort that helped Halifax put an end to Charlottetown's 15-game winning streak.

Gravel stopped all 17 shots he faced in the opening frame while his teammates potted three goals on just eight shots.

Justin Barron, Robert Orr, Senna Peeters and Jordan Dumais rounded out the offence for the Mooseheads (15-16-9).

Oscar Plandowski and Cedric Desruisseaux scored second-period power-play goals for the Islanders (30-5-0), who got 17 saves from Jacob Goobie.

Halifax went 1 for 2 on the power play while Charlottetown was 2 for 7.
