Before the Boston Celtics’ Game 2 against the Brooklyn Nets, Jayson Tatum debuted the upcoming Air Jordan 36 in the first public reveal of the shoe.

Tatum wore a purple version of the sneaker that was first glimpsed in a social media post made by fellow Jordan athlete and Dallas Wings star Satou Sabally earlier in the week.

Jordan has not released official press images for the sneaker nor announced a release date. The last release in its signature line, the Air Jordan 35, was released in September 2020.

For the game itself, Tatum switched to a pair of Jordan 34 sneakers. Tatum left the game in the third quarter after being poked in the eye by Kevin Durant. The Celtics lost Game 2, 130-108, to fall to a 2-0 series deficit.
