The National Hockey League announced on Wednesday that the 2022 Draft Lottery will be held on Tuesday, May 10.

TSN Hockey Insider Chris Johnston reports that that the annual reveal will be done remotely with NHL general managers and executives patched in from their home cities.

This year, only the top 11 seeds will be eligible to move up to receive the first overall selection in the 2022 NHL Draft.

The allocation of odds for the first Lottery Draw of the 2022 NHL Draft Lottery, which has been adjusted following the addition of the Seattle Kraken this season, is as follows:

Seed - Odds

1 - 18.5%
2 - 13.5%
3 - 11.5%
4 - 9.5%
5 - 8.5%
6 - 7.5%
7 - 6.5%
8 - 6.0%
9 - 5.0%
10 - 3.5%
11 - 3.0%
12 - 2.5%
13 - 2.0%
14 - 1.5%
15 - 0.5%
16 - 0.5%

The odds for the remaining teams will increase on a proportionate basis for the second Lottery Draw, based on which team wins the first Lottery Draw.

The 14 teams not selected in the 2022 NHL Draft Lottery will be assigned the remaining 2022 NHL Draft selections (among 1 through 16 in the first round), in inverse order of regular-season points.

The 2022 NHL Draft will be held at the Bell Centre in Montreal on July 7-8.
