GATINEAU, Que. — Jérémy Michel scored at 8:10 of overtime to give the Val-d'Or Foreurs a 2-1 victory over the Gatineau Olympiques Thursday in Game 1 of their first-round QMJHL playoff series.

Tristan Boileau made 41 saves in the Foreurs' victory as they were outshot by the Olympiques 42-21.

Michel also assisted on Val-d'Or's only other goal, a marker that came just over five minutes into the third period from Justin Robidas that tied the game up at 1-1.

Mathieu Bizier scored Gatineau's lone goal, 26 seconds before the first frame was about to expire.

Gatineau entered the post-season as the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference and has now seen its home-ice advantage stripped away in its first game of the 2022 playoffs.
