AEW Grand Slam Tournament of Champions semi-final match: "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson (w/ William Regal) vs. "Lionheart" Chris Jericho (w/ Jericho Appreciation Society) - As the feud between Bryan Danielson and Chris Jericho simmers on, the two men meet in their highest-stakes match yet in an AEW Grand Slam Tournament of Champions semi-final match. It comes less than two weeks removed from their match at All Out in which Jericho emerged victorious, thanks to a low blow. Of course, the match also takes place with the backdrop of the continued battle for Daniel Garcia's soul. While Garcia is a member of the JAS, when defeated Blackpool Combat Club member Wheeler YUTA for the ROH Pure Championship on last Wednesday's Dynamite, it was Danielson and YUTA who celebrated Garcia's achievement with him and not Jericho. Previously, Jericho had made it clear to Garcia that the JAS wouldn't be accompanying him to the ring for the match in his hometown in Buffalo as retribution for Garcia's failure to celebrate Jericho's win over Danielson at the pay-per-view. With that all still swirling in the background, there is the matter at hand of a match that would propel each man to an AEW World Championship match at AEW Grand Slam next week on Dynamite from Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens. If Danielson is to win this match, he's going to have to do something he's never done before - beat Chris Jericho in a singles match. Jericho is now 4-0 all-time against Danielson in one-on-one encounters. While Jericho has the chance to become a two-time AEW World Champion, Danielson has yet to hold the title, failing to wrest it away from then champion "Hangman" Adam Page (coincidentally the man he defeated last week to move on in the tournament) in their two title matches. The winner of this match will meet the victor between Jon Moxley and Sammy Guevara in the final. Speaking of which...

AEW Grand Slam Tournament of Champions semi-final match: Jon Moxley (w/ William Regal) vs. "The Spanish God" Sammy Guevara (w/ Tay Melo) - In the other semi-final, two-time AEW World Champion Jon Moxley takes on the Jericho Appreciation Society's Sammy Guevara. Guevara advanced to the semis thanks to a hard-fought victory over rival Darby Allin on last week's Rampage. If he is to make to his first ever shot at the AEW World Championship, Guevara is going to have to get by a fired-up Moxley. On last week's Dynamite, Moxley made it very clear that he wants to be the promotion's centrepiece. He wants to be AEW's calling card and will do whatever he can to become AEW World Champion for a third time. Moxley and Guevara have only met in singles action once before, all the way back in the early days of AEW. Moxley defeated Guevara on the Bash at the Beach edition of Dynamite on Jan. 15, 2020. Guevara heads into the match at 8-1 in his last nine standard singles matches with the only blemish coming in March when he dropped the TNT Championship to Scorpio Sky. A victory on Wednesday night for Moxley sets up a pair of tantalizing possibilities for next week's final: Moxley would either face Blackpool Combat Club stablemate Bryan Danielson or Chris Jericho, the man he defeated for his first AEW World Championship victory at Revolution 2020. But before either of those matches can become a reality, Moxley will have to get through the formidable challenge of Guevara. Which man will have the opportunity to fight for a title next week?

AEW Interim Women's Champion Toni Storm and "The Fallen Goddess" Athena vs. Dr. Britt Baker, DMD (w/ Rebel) and "The Professor" Serena Deeb - A tag-team match involving four of the top competitors in the AEW women's division comes at an interesting time for everybody involved. Toni Storm won the AEW Interim Women's Championship at All Out when she defeated former champions Hikaru Shida and Britt Baker, as well as Jamie Hayter in a four-way match. The bout featured two losses for Baker - not only did she lose the match, but her friend and associate Hayter walked out on her following the match and has been in no mood for a reconciliation since. Athena was also a loser at All Out, failing to dethrone Jade Cargill as TBS Champion. While Deeb is coming off of a victory last Friday on Rampage against Madison Rayne and has won six straight singles matches, her inability to defeat Mercedes Martinez for the ROH Women's World Championship at Death Before Dishonor in July is still sticking her craw. For Baker and Deeb, a victory on Wednesday night could put either quickly in line for a shot at Storm and her title. For Storm, who defeated Penelope Ford last week in her first action since the PPV, it will be another opportunity to display why she's at the top of the division. For Athena, while she can't pin the champion on Wednesday night, she can demonstrate that she still belongs in title contention in the division with a strong showing. Which of these two teams will pull out a victory?
