ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Daniel Audette and Sven Andrighetto both scored in the shootout to lead the St. John's IceCaps past the Syracuse Crunch 3-2 on Wednesday in American Hockey League action.

Nikita Scherbak and Markus Eisenschmid both had second-period goals for St. John's (11-10-1), the minor-league affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens. Yann Danis made 26 saves and turned away two skaters in the shootout for the win.

Adam Comrie scored a little over five minutes into the third for Syracuse (11-5-2) and Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond found the back of the net in the first. Kristers Gudlevskis stopped 28 shots for the Crunch.

The IceCaps did not score on their two power plays and Syracuse were 0 for 3 with the man advantage.
