DENVER — Ryan Benesch scored a hat trick and had four assists as the Colorado Mammoth defeated the Calgary Roughnecks 12-7 on Sunday in National Lacrosse League play.

Ryan Lee, Eli McLaughlin and Kyle Killen each had a pair of goals, while Jacob Ruest, Chris Wardle and Taylor Stuart rounded out the scoring for the Mammoth (1-3).

Dan Taylor and Riley Loewen paced the Roughnecks (3-4) with two goals apiece, and Ryan Martel, Curtis Dickson and Tyler Burton supplied the rest of the offence.

Dillon Ward made 32 saves to pick up the victory for Colorado. Christian Del Bianco turned aside 40 shots in defeat for Calgary.

The Mammoth went 3 for 9 on the power play. The Roughnecks were 1 for 5 with the man advantage.
