Last Week: We didn’t get Justin Rose to win, but we did have two winners on the slate. The first was Hideki Matsuyama at +115 for a top-20 finish, while the second was Denny McCarthy beating Brooks Koepka by one shot in the opening round. That’s five winners in two weeks, so not a bad start to the season.

This Week: The Greatest Show on Grass tees off in Phoenix and the party has already started. Known as much for the antics by the fans as for the great shots on the course, this tournament is certainly unlike any other. And this year, the Coliseum on the 16th hole has been upgraded to allow more people and better views from the seats. Construction on the structure began in September, by the way. Oh and the course? It’s a par 71 and has a great finish that includes the infamous par -3 16th, a driveable par 4 and then another par 4 with a risk-reward tee shot.

To Win

Scottie Scheffler +200

These have to be the shortest odds for any player we’ve ever seen on the PGA Tour but it is still hard to pass up. Scheffler already has one win this season and he’s a two-time champion at this tournament so how do you not put a bobble down on him?

Cam Young +2500

Young had a big finish to last season with a win – finally! – at Wyndham and then four finishes inside the top 11. Started 2026 last week with a tie for 22nd. He’s finished tied for 12th and tied for eighth his last two starts here.

Top 10

Maverick McNealy +260

McNealy has top-10 finishes here each of the last two years and arrives off a top 10 at the Farmers Insurance Open. So far, he’s shown a pretty well-rounded game with most of his clubs behaving. That indicates he should have a good week at TPC Scottsdale.

Xander Schauffele +145The X man hasn’t played here the last two years but prior to that, was inside the top 20 the last six appearances and the top 10 the last three. We might have put him down for a win this week but he’s made just one start so far, that coming last week where he missed the cut.

Top 20

Nick Taylor +185

In the last three years, Taylor has a win and a second-place finish, so we think he has a pretty good read on the course. Started off the season with a tie for 13th at the SONY Open where he was the defending champion and then posted a tie for 27th at the American Express.

Jake Knapp +125

Knapp has been fast out of the gates in 2026 with a tie for 11th at the SONY and a fifth-place tie last week at the Farmers. Has made the cut here twice in his only two appearances.

Specials

Top Canadian Nick Taylor +160

Although Corey Conners is the favourite, we’ll go with Nick Taylor as top Canuck.

72-hole Match Brooks Koepka over J.J. Spaun

Koepka should be over all the hoopla from his return to the PGA Tour last week.
