Chicago Blackhawks forward Daniel Carcillo has been offered in-person hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety for his cross check on Winnipeg Jets forward Mathieu Perreault.

The incident occurred with roughly 10 seconds remaining in the second period of the Jets’ 4-2 win on Friday night, when Carcillo cross checked Perreault from behind. He received a minor penalty for cross-checking on the play.

Perreault did not return to the game.

In 31 games with the Blackhawks this season, Carcillo has four goals and three assists as well as 32 penalty minutes.

The 29-year-old received a six-game suspension in the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs for physical abuse of an official while with the New York Rangers.

An in-person hearing allows the league to reserve the right to suspend Carcillo for five or more games.

He signed a one-year deal with the Blackhawks in October.
